Beijing National Day School is arguably the most futuristic middle sc

hool in China. The 67-year-old institution has no head teachers and no set classrooms.

It also offers different schedules for every one of its 4,500 students, who can choose from more than 400 different classes.

What turns this administrative nightmare into an enticing reality is

the power of AI, which is woven into the very fabric of the school, from grading papers to deli

vering packages to personalizing class schedules, Li Xigui, the principal, told Xinhua News Agency.

“We want AI technologies to be ou

r guiding light, and to train a new generation of chi

ldren who can collaborate and compete with robots in the future,” he said.

Another source of stress for a mom is the relatively rich extra-curricular a

her kid would fall behind forces a mom to make the child learn everything that she thinks could be useful.

Chinese parents usually have very high expectations for their kids, so many of them don’t even try to find out what their chil

Barca has won 26 league titles in Spain, compared to

33 for Real Madrid. But Barca have won

eight of the last 11 leagues and 10 of the last 15 (all 10 with Messi in the squad).

Earlier in the day, second-placed Atletico Madrid won 1-0 at home over struggling Valladolid to delay Barca’s celebrations.

The only goal of the match came in the 66th minute when Valladolid’s Joaquin Fernandez put the ball into his own net, but

the visitors were convinced they should have had a penalty after Santiago Arias clearly handed the ball in his own area.

Referee Melero Lopez checked with the VAR but decided the handball was accidental.

The drinking water source enforcement app integra

tes satellite remote sensing images, water environment problems spotted by satellite, water protection zone bound

ary’s spatial data, water environment problems found by provinces and cities themselves and law enfo

rcement data at the scene, and sends environmental problem lists to law enforcers at the scene to guide their work.

The app was used during the nationwide inspection on water sources i

n 2018 and the law enforcement during water sources inspection at county level this year.

Meng Zhiqi, a law enforcer with the water ecology and environment department of Shang

hai bureau of ecology and environment, has witnessed the app’s ability. “We received

a message from a work team of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, saying there was an illegal shrimp farming house with a chimney deep

inside a water resource conservation forest, but my colleagues and I didn’t know how to get there. Later, we fo

llowed the map provided by the app and demolished the house within 24 hours,” said Meng.

Employers are obliged to provide overtime pay, bonuses and welfare benefits to em

A senior developer with the e-commerce giant Alibaba,

schedule is compulsory, but failure to follow the rules could lead to low performance scores and layoffs.

“Defiant behavior can also lead to losing your annual bonus, which is a lot of money,” he said.

To better protect workers from harsh treatment, Jiang suggested th

Zhao Wanping, a lawmaker from Anhui province, said

revisions to the law should highlight the protection of juveniles and regulate online informatio

In response, Liu Xinhua, a senior official from the National People’s Congr

“Articles will be doubled, and the hot issues, including school bullying, will be added,” Liu said.

Tong Lihua, director of a juvenile law research center in Beijing, welcomed the rev

Yuan Ningning, an associate law professor at China University of Political Science and

Law, is keeping his eye on school bullying, saying the revision would deter would-be offenders.

How China contributes to ICH safeguarding in the

A country with a long history and rich culture, China, by 2018’s end, h

ad 40 elements listed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritages (ICH).

Many of these are in need of urgent safeguarding. How can we best do this? How can we i

ncrease public awareness of the issue? These are problems facing many countries.

Thanks to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible C

ultural Heritage, adopted in 2003, there is now widespread recognition of the impo

rtance of safeguarding living practices, expressions, skills and knowledge.

To better safeguard ICH, the Chinese government and UNESCO signed an agreemen

t in Beijing in 2012 to establish a professional institution – the International Training Centre for Intan

gible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP) – to give countries in the re

gion the capacity-building service under the framework of the 2003 Convention.
